What you are looking at is an
original Epiphone Lauto from 1912', the instrument did not go by
the name of Epiphone at that time. That did not happen till
1924, and before that they went by the family name of Anastasios
Stathopoulos.
This was a very big and involved
job, and I had to make the bridge, pickguard, re-machine the new
tuners to work in the headstock, and repair many cracks, as well
as put on the original type of finish which was Varnish, and
Shellac. At that time they did not have Nitro lacquer, that did
not come into use till 1920.
Next up is a Silvertone single
cutaway thinline electric, with mini humbuckers that were made
for the guitar by Gibson. I had to repair the pickup rings, as
they were cracked and in rough shape, and make a new pickguard
from scratch, as well as a truss cover too. Turned out to be a
very nice guitar.
